Conservative movies exist, and some are immensely popular. Here is our growing list (in no particular order):

  1. The first Spider-Man (2002 film), which praises moral virtue (hard-working teenager, devout aunt and well-meaning uncle) and pokes fun at assumed liberals (entertainers and journalist). Hero chooses abstinence. This was one of the most profitable films ever made.
  2. Gone With the Wind
  3. Ben-Hur
  4. Shawshank Redemption
  5. The Sound of Music
  6. It's a Wonderful Life
  7. The Ten Commandments
  8. Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
  9. The Passion of the Christ
  10. Star Wars (not including the sequels) - simple truths about the triumph of good over evil
  11. King of Kings
  12. On The Waterfront - a simple but hardworking longshoreman takes on his Mafia-controlled union
  13. Sergeant York
  14. Knute Rockne: All-American
  15. Ninotchka
  16. Forbidden Planet
  17. Rudy
  18. The Prince of Egypt
  19. Red Dawn
  20. Harry's War
  21. The Patriot (2000) (the one starring Mel Gibson, there are several other movies with this name)
  22. Ladder 49
  23. Rocky (perseverance and God-given talent can overcome all odds)
  24. October Sky
  25. Amazing Grace (film)
  26. Bruce Almighty
  27. Home Alone
  28. World Trade Center (highlights the bravery of the firemen and police in 9/11)
  29. A Man For All Seasons
  30. Chariots of Fire
  31. One Foot In Heaven
  32. Quo Vadis?
  33. Three Godfathers
  34. Reefer Madness (emphasizies the dangers of drugs)
  35. The Lost Weekend (dangers of alcohol)
  36. Little Miss Sunshine (importance of family)
  37. The Manchurian Candidate (anti-communist in general, but with a swipe at Joseph McCarthy)
  38. High Noon (clearcut portrayal of right and wrong, and standing up against evil)
  39. The Lord of the Rings (film series) (a more definite metaphor of good against evil)
  40. The Chronicles of Narnia (2005 film series), beginning with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005 film).
  41. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (a great period piece that shows what being a man is all about)
  42. The Bounty (with Anthony Hopkins finally doing justice to the actual, much-maligned character of Vice Admiral William Bligh, Royal Navy)
  43. Strategic Air Command (1955 film)
  44. A Gathering of Eagles
  45. The Devil's Brigade
