Manchester City Football Club [1] is the smaller of two English Premier League soccer teams (called 'football' in England) in the city of Manchester, England. Usually lying lower in the Premier League than their derby rivals, Manchester United, City are managed by the former manager of the English national squad, Sven Goran-Eriksson.
The team plays at the City of Manchester Stadium, built as the main stadium for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Currently, the club is under a takeover attempt by the former President of Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra.
