Palestine

Template:Stub Palestine is an area of the Middle East named as such by the Romans [1] after expelling most Jews from Israel, currently it is occupying some of the territory of Israel. As one of the names for this region over the years has been "Palestine," but that name never referred to a sovereign country [2] It was never an Arab Country. [3]. Historically, Arab Palestinians have lived primarily in Syria and Jordan. The creation of the Palestinian state was a means to continue the Arab struggle against Zionism. Palestine is the home of many terrorist organizations, such as the Palestine Liberation Organization, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade (related to Fatah Arafat & Abu Mazen), Hamas, Islamic Jihad.

Massive immigration by Arabs followed when the Zionists started to cultivate the deserted land, Arabs facing no restrictions [4] , such as the Jews faced from the British [5] [6] [7] Jobs provided by Jews, by newly established Zionist industry and agriculture lured the Arab immigrants there [8].

The name "Falastin" that Arabs today use for "Palestine" is not an original Arabic name but the mere Arab pronunciation of the Greco-Roman "Palastina", no connection to any Arabs. [9]

Palestine is also often used by many Jihadi Islamofascists organizations around the world as one more excuse to their ultimately aim to conquer & dominate the world, establish their new all Islamic caliphate [10].

There were no states or nationalities in the Middle East, certainly not among Sunni Muslims, until the Brits and French redrew the map after WWI. There never was, historically, any "Palestinian" Arab identity- and this area never had political sovereignty. After the Roman Empire, it was part of the Byzantine Empire. After the Islamic Conquest, it was part of, first, the Umayyad Empire; then the 'Abbasid Empire; then the Tulunid Empire; then it went briefly to the Byzantines, then the Saljuqs, then the Crusaders (the only time it was an independent political entity, by the way, between the end of Jewish sovereignty in the ancient world and the renewal of Jewish sovereignty in the modern one- the Kingdom of Jerusalem, not "Palestine"); Ayyubid Empire; Mamluke Empire; and, finally, the Ottoman Empire. At no time was there a country called "Palestine." Occasionally the geographic region the Romans had designated as "Palestine" was used as a geographic term in the medieval Arabic geographies, but it had no political meaning whatsoever.
