San Francisco is a city in California and is generally considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its mayor, Gavin Newsom, attempted to perform same-sex marriages despite the practice being explicitly illegal under California law. Not surprisingly, the marriages were nullified by the courts shortly thereafter.
