Paul Newman (January 26, 1925 - September 26, 2008) was an American actor, film director, and producer, born in Ohio. He was a liberal, who, despite being heterosexual, supported same-sex marriage. He was also the founder of a food company, Newman's Own, which donates all of its profits to charities. He has a son (now dead), and a daughter, by his first marriage, which ended in divorce. He has three daughters by his second marriage, which lasted fifty years until his death. He was a former chain-smoker, who died of lung cancer in Connecticut, aged 83.
