Osteoporosis is a weakening of the bones due to calcium loss. It is typically a condition found in the elderly. It is more frequent in women than in men , but both may occur. There are no symptoms until a break of a bone occurs so annual testing is recommended. The condition is treated by ensuring adequate dietary calcium and drugs which increase calcium deposition.
