Brandon McInerney was falsely accused of committing a hate crime in connection with his murder of an older gay student, after the older student "had been dressing in women's accessories and wearing makeup, and was flirting aggressively with male students on campus who did not want the attention"[1] at a public school in California.

In McInerney's much-publicized jury trial, all 12 jurors rejected the politically driven claim of prosecutors that he had committed a hate crime.[2] The jury refused to convict him, and he later pled guilty to reduced charges and a shorter prison sentence. The lamestream media, however, continued to falsely portray the murder as somehow having been a hate crime, failing to include the view of the jurors.
