FEMA is the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA is an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security. It is designed to coordinate the response to emergencies and disasters within the US that local and state authorities cannot handle.[1]
FEMA was criticized after the slow response to Hurricane Katrina.
