Michael Bradley Enzi, known as Mike Enzi (February 1, 1944 – July 26, 2021), was a generally conservative Republican United States Senator for his native state of Wyoming. He was elected to the Senate in 1996 to succeed Moderate Republican Alan Simpson, who did not seek reelection. He did not seek reelection to a fifth term in 2000 and was succeeded by conservative Cynthia Lummis.[1] Over the course of the 110th Congress, Enzi voted with a majority of his Republican colleagues 88.6 percent of the time, as of March 22, 2008.[2]
He previously served in the Wyoming Air National Guard from 1967 to 1973. He was also a state senator from 1991 to 1997 and the mayor of Gillette, Wyoming, from 1975 to 1983.
He died at the age of seventy-seven of injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in Loveland, Colorado[3]
