Immunity is the body's protection against a disease. There are two types of immunity, passive and active.

Immunity is indicated by the presence of antibodies in the blood and can usually be determined with a laboratory test.[1]

In legal terminology, immunity is a grant by a court of law or by a prosecutor, which assures someone will not face prosecution due to statutory protection (such as of the President) or in return for providing criminal evidence.
