Lilith is the Sumerian Fertility Goddess considered to be a demon or succubus in Jewish Mythology. She was a goddess of agriculture, motherhood and fertility for both men and women. Often refered to as Lilitu or Lilit and frequently believed to also have been a wind goddess.
In the ben Sira version of the Bible Lilith is the first wife of Adam (before Eve) and she is leaves Eden in a metaphorical version of divorce. After she leaves Eden she is transformed into a succubus and cursed by God to never find love because her kisses suck the life out of mortal men.
