He leads by 44-35% in a poll in September 2021 against the Republican incumbent Greg Abbott.[1] McConaughey has won an Oscar for his acting.

Joe Biden as president is very unpopular in Texas, which will make it difficult for any Democrat to win statewide there in 2022.
