Capernaum (currently having the Arabic name Kafr Nāḥūm) was the city in Galilee on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus was baptized as an adult, performed many of His miracles, and lived the last week of His life before the Crucifixion and Resurrection. It is felt that Peter's home was in this city also. This city probably did not exist during the period of the Old Testament and is not mentioned in those books, but can be visited to this day.[1]
