Disciplining

Disciplining means prohibition, punishment, restricting undesirable behavior. When disciplining an errant child, directives evoke negative experience as a result of child's aberrant behavior that can thus be slackened, restricted or completely removed.

Discipline leads to harvest of righteousness
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." — Bible, Hebrews 12:11

The sole loving attitude and positive stimulus are not sufficient. A child that is guided and disciplined in an adequate way, gradually learns to discern socially acceptable and unacceptable forms of satisfying its needs.
