Rod Blum
Rodney Leland "Rod" Blum (born April 26, 1955) is a conservative businessman and Tea Party Republican who served as the U.S. representative from Iowa's 1st district from 2015 to 2019. During his tenure, Blum was a member of the House Freedom Caucus.

U.S. House of Representatives
2014 election
Blum was narrowly elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014, narrowly defeating Democrat Pat Murphy by just over 2% of the vote.[2]
Obama era
Within a week of taking office, Blum voted along with his party line to approve the Keystone XL.[3]
Blum co-sponsored legislation in February 2015 to repeal the estate tax, commonly referred to as the death tax.[4]
Rep. Blum co-sponsored the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015.[5]
Blum voted in July 2015 in favor of the Enforce the Law for Sanctuary Cities Act.[6]
A fiscal conservative, Blum voted against the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, which raised the debt limit.[7]
2016 election
Blum was re-elected in 2016 with just under 54% of the vote.[8]
Trump era
Blum co-sponsored legislation in February 2017 to repeal the bureaucratic, Obamacare-installed IPAB.[9]
Rep. Blum voted in March 2017 along with his party line in favor of VA accountability.[10]
Blum voted in favor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.[11]
Blum voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December 2017.[12]
Rep. Blum voted in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in January 2018.[13]
Blum voted in June 2018 against a bill that would enact measures for both immigration "reform" and border security.[14]
Blum voted in favor of the Manage Our Wolves Act in November 2018.[15]
Among Blum's last votes in the United States House of Representatives was in favor of the First Step Act.[16]
2018 election
Blum ran for re-election to a third term in 2018 during a blue wave, and lost to Democrat Abby Finkenauer by just over 5% of the votes casted.[17]
Political views
An adamant conservative, Blum is pro-life, pro-gun rights, and a staunch opponent of Obamacare.[18]
