In law and politics, an order is a mandate, command, or direction authoritatively given. It is a command of a court or judge made in writing.

In physics, particularly, thermodynamics, the order of a system can be described by entropy.

In theology, Yahweh (the God of the Bible) is the God of order. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
