Cyber is a prefex which describes an object, person, or idea as a part of the computer and information age. This prefox has been applied to a number of things, including cybernetics, cyberspace, cyberterrorism, Cyberwarfare, and Cyberpunk.[1][2][3]

History

This prefix was derived from the Greek word "kybernetes," which means "governor" or "steersman." Norbert Wiener and his colleagues are credited with coining the term for use in the word cybernetics.[4]
