The WWE Championship is the top championship in World Wrestling Entertainment. It is currently held by Daniel Bryan, who has been the titleholder since he won the belt from A.J. Styles on November 13, 2018.[1] The title was first established on April 25, 1963 as the World Wide Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Championship following the then-WWWF withdrawing from the National Wrestling Alliance, with former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Buddy Rogers recognized as the first WWWF Champion.
