The Busing section could be spun-out into a separate Busing article if need be; during the first Democrat 2020 presidential debate "busing" was the number one Google search term. A lot of voters have no idea what it is/was. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 20:43, 28 June 2019 (EDT)

I strongly oppose this article's pro-busing stance. It may be nice to score political points against Biden, but that doesn't change the fact that forced busing failed as a policy and caused much resentment among otherwise reasonable and un-bigoted people. CP should not adopt a pro-forced busing standpoint. --1990'sguy (talk) 22:54, 28 June 2019 (EDT)
It's not a standpoint. It's a record of the history. If you feel facts are miscolored, propose alternative language. The facts are stated pretty clearly, IMO, without undo editorial bias. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 00:04, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
The section quotes two people who essentially mourned the end of forced busing, including a liberal Republican who held many left-wing policies including support for abortion. Perhaps include a respected conservative who believed forced busing was bad policy? The way it is now, it makes it appear slanted in favor of forced busing. --1990'sguy (talk) 00:10, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
I'm not sue; that's why eventually busing and desegregation eventually need their own articles, which fall into Category:Black history. But it's too ambitious a project for right now.
The immediate objective is twofold: One, put an end to the lie that the GOP is racist and blacks do best with Democrats; and two, we haven't heard the last word on Biden, Harris, and segregation last nite, however Harris may have dealt Biden a mortal blow. So Biden's legacy will remain an issue up convention time 2020, whether he wins or looses, and maybe beyond. For know, I'm trying to just collect and present the facts, because the Democrats themselves will not do it (even if Harris wins the nomination, which means it could become even a bigger issue).
The arc of history is tending against those who opposed desegregation (desegregation, not busing). It's the Dems themselves that have made the issues synonymous this past week. We don't want to, and shouldn't re-litigate busing. It's a dead issue, historically and politically. But I'm not prepared to have Joseph Robinette Biden by my spokesman and hero for my own opposition to busing in the 1980s. As a historical fact, HE is the one who ended it. I believe we have enough evidence to show him, and his ilk, as an opportunist, racist, and slanderer, for dumping his own racism (like the Clinton's did and others) on Republicans. I'm loaded for bear.
As Kamala Harris says, it is not an intellectual or academic debate, it's real policy with real world consequences. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 00:27, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
