George Pell is a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church in Australia.

In 2017 he was charged with alleged historical sex abuse. He has denied these accusations.

Pell was eventually convicted by a jury during the second secret trial. This jury did not see the accuser give live testimony, they only viewed a recording and unlike the first jury they did not visit the cathedral. Pell appealed the decision to the Victorian appeals court but his appeal was denied in a split 2-1 decision. Highly respected Australian Justice Weinberg dissented in favor of Pell with a 200 page opinion. He referenced the false allegations by Carl Beach and the unjust conviction of Lindy Chamberlain in Australia.

In spite of all this Wikipedia has treated the verdict as factual and correct and called Pell a child sexual offender in spite of the widespread doubt regarding the decision.
