Controversy

Controversy is a term used to describe differing opinions regarding a certain topic or situation. Controversy is addressed in a debate, and, like freedom of opinion, is a staple of liberal democracy.[1][2][3]
Perhaps the most controversial President in American history is U.S. President Donald John Trump.[4]
Several firing decisions by both mainstream and alternative media outlets have been mired in controversy (see Essay: Why I no longer support Breitbart).
Many both contemporary and historical figures, especially in politics, are intensely controversial.[5][6]
Subject matter related to politics and theology are generally extremely controversial.[7]
The U.S. Supreme Court has made many controversial decisions.[8]
