Supersessionism is the Christian theological belief that Christianity is the fulfillment of Biblical Judaism. In its more radical form, generally termed "replacement theology", supersessionism, maintains that the Jews are no longer considered to be God's Chosen people in any sense. The Church is the People of God and the New Israel, to whom alone the promises of God belong. The more general understanding of this view in a milder form is therefore that Jews who deny that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah fall short of their calling as God's Chosen people, but God has not entirely cast them off as His Chosen, to whom the promises also belong.
