Nicholas of Cusa (Cues on the Moselle 1401 â Todi, in Umbria, 1464) was a German cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, administrator, philosopher, jurist, mathematician, and astronomer.
Nicholas of Cusa said in the 15th Century: God is like an infinite sphere, whose center is everywhere and circumference nowhere.
The writings of Cardinal Nicholas may be classified under four heads: Juridical, Philosophical, Theological treatises and Scientific writings. The theological treatises are dogmatic, ascetic, and mystic. [1]
For his prolific work and encyclopedic knowledge he could be considered a polymath.
