Cory Gardner is a U.S. Senator for Colorado, serving since January 3, 2015. Before his election to the Senate, he served as the U.S. Representative for the 4th congressional district of Colorado from 2011 until 2015, and in the Colorado House of Representatives for the 63rd district from 2005 until 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. On January 4, 2018. Gardener gave a speech on the floor of the Senate where he threatened to block all judicial nominations unless Attorney General Jeff Sessions reversed his recently announced policy of enforcing federal laws against marajuana in those states where its use is legal under state law. Colorado is one of eight states to legalize recreational use of marajuana.
