Robert Parris Moses

Robert Parris Moses was born on January 23, 1935 in Harlem, New York. He helped blacks register to vote in Mississippi during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. He temporarily changed his name Bob Parris and moved to Canada to avoid the Vietnam draft. He currently teaches math at Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi.
