Tom Vilsack

Tom Vilsack is the former Governor of Iowa and a member of the Democratic Party. He has twice served as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack has repeatedly spoken at the U.S.-China Business Council â a lobbying group that âserves the interestsâ of Chinese and American corporations â even defending a controversial Chinese state-funded project flagged as a ânational security riskâ by the U.S. intelligence community.[1]

Vilsack was a candidate early on in the 2008 Presidential Election for the Democratic nomination, but withdrew and endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton.[2] He was nominated for Secretary of Agriculture by Barack Obama[3] and was confirmed by the Senate.
