Daniel John Bongino, known as Dan Bongino (born December 4, 1974) is a former Secret Service agent and a New York Times bestselling author, radio show host and Fox News television commentator. His radio program is broadcast not from his native New York City but from south Florida

According to The New York Times,

"He has become one of the most popular right-wing commentators in the country, with millions of social media followers, a top-20 podcast, a line of best-selling books and a Facebook page that generates more monthly engagement than the pages of The New York Times, The Washington Post and CNN combined.”[1]

On March 18, 2021, it was announced by Cumulus Media's Westwood One that Bongino would take the afternoon time slot formerly held by Rush Limbaugh.[2]

Dan Bongino's public service career began with the NYPD in 1995. After joining the US Secret Service in 1999, Dan received a Department of Justice award for his many successful investigations while assigned to a financial fraud task-force.

In 2006, Bongino joined the elite Presidential Protective Division during the administration of President George W. Bush. Dan became one of the earliest tenured agents to be given responsibility for an operational section of the presidential detail and he remained on protective duty with President Obama.

One of their most distinguished agents, Dan's assignments included the coordination of President Barack Hussei Obama's visits to Prague, Jakarta, amongst a myriad of terror threats, and finally as the lead agent responsible for President Obama's visit to an active war zone in Afghanistan.

A multiple-time New York Times Best Selling author, and the host of the top-rated “The Dan Bongino Show” Podcast, Bongino provides frequent commentary on a myriad of issues for Fox News.

Danearned his Master of Business Administration from Penn State University, and his bachelor and master's degrees from the City University of New York. He has run unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in Maryland.

His attacks on John Matze[3] and Andrew Torba[4] may implicate him as a gatekeeper.
