Esteban Bovo
Esteban L. "Steve" Bovo Jr. (born June 12, 1962) is the Mayor-elect of Hialeah, Florida. Bovo previously served on the Miami-Dade County Commission from 2011-2020, the Hialeah City Council, in the Florida House of Representatives from 2008-2011, and . He ran for mayor of Miami-Dade County in 2020, losing to Daniella Levine Cava. Prior to serving as an elected official, Bovo worked at the historic Hialeah Park as a marketing and advertising executive.

Early and personal life
Bovo was born in Queens, New York, on June 12, 1962, to Esteban and Marilyn Bovo-Carás. Bovo is married to his wife, Viviana, and has five children.
Political career
Miami-Dade Mayoral Campaign In October 2020, Bovo announced he was running for Miami-Dade County Mayor, and would go on to win won the Republican Primary. He was defeated in the general election by Democratic Commissioner Daniela Levine Cava by a margin of 8%.
Hialeah Mayoral Campaign Bovo won the nonpartisan primary for mayor of Hialeah on November 2, 2021. Bovo received 59 percent of the vote, meaning he won the primary outright. Bovo had recieved the endorsement of several high-profile Republicans, including President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and Senator Marco Rubio, amongst others. Bovo campaigned on conservative values, opposition to mandates, and low taxes. On his campaign website, he writes, "The next Mayor of Hialeah must be committed to moving the city forward with courageous and innovative reforms. At the forefront of every city initiative, proposal, bid, contract, ordinance and project must be transparency and efficiency to protect the taxpayer from unethical practices, waste, and abusive taxes...I know that this is the correct course for the future of our city to be truly prosperous for its residents. The platform below demonstrates my commitment to conservative and effective governance for families and taxpayers."[2].
