Degrowth is an economic philosophy closely associated with Environmentalism that stresses reductions in the consumption of energy in order to achieve sustainability with the environment. Degrowth also associates with anti-consumerism.

The degrowth movement opposes all forms of new energy or potential energy: Oil pipelines, new drilling, new nuclear power plants, and also desalination plants which effectively kills off hydrogen energy production.

Degrowth is an important belief of the World Economic Forum[1] who argues that "The solution is essentially to move away from the assumption that growth is good."
