Balanced literary learning

Balanced literary learning is a failed liberal approach to teaching children how to read, and at least one pro-parent public school district has replaced it with phonics, with successful results.[1]
In 2018, an opinion article in The New York Times admitted that "There is no excuse for this. Colleges of education have to start requiring that their faculties teach the science of reading. Children’s futures depend on it."[2]
