Ruth Davidson

Ruth Davidson, Baroness Davidson of Lundin Links is a Scottish politician. She is best known for serving as Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party from 2011 to 2019 and Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party in the Scottish Parliament from 2020 to 2021.

Despite her generally liberal stances, Ruth Davidson was still bullied by Scotland's authoritarian SNP regime and their mob.

Early life

Ruth Elizabeth Davidson was born in Edinburgh on 10 November 1978 to a working-class family. Davidson spent her early childhood in Selkirk and moved with her family to Fife after her father took a job in the whiskey industry.

Ruth Davidson spent 3 years between 2003 and 2006 as a signaller for the Territorial Army.

Career

Ruth Davidson was elected to the Scottish Parliament on 5 May 2011 as a regional member for Glasgow.

In early November 2011, Ruth Davidson became leader of the Scottish Conservatives, the Scottish wing of the UK's main neoconservative party the Conservatives (or "Tories"). She came first in the initial round of voting with 40.3% of the vote, and again in he final round with 55.2% of the vote.

Davidson was elected again to the Scottish Parliament on 5 May 2016, this time as a representative for the constituency of Edinburgh Central. Davidson won a minority victory with 30.4% in that constituency, with her SNP rival Alison Dickie coming a close second on 28.6%.

Following the UK referendum decision to leave the EU on 23 June 2016, UK Prime Minister David Cameron resigned and Davidson supported Theresa May to succeed him.

At a rally attended by senior members of Scottish socialist führer Nicola Sturgeon's Reichskabinett, a rap was featured that labelled Ruth Davidson as a "dyke".

Political views

Despite being leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Davidson has few conservative principles and is exceedingly liberal, meaning she is generally in line with the political establishment in Scotland. She opposed Brexit.

Ethics

Following the overturning of the problematic and outdated Roe v. Wade case in 2022, which effectively made abortion legal on demand in the USA, Davidson claimed that "women will die" as a result of the decision. Similar claims were made by many liberals at the time and are yet to be proven correct.

Immigration

Ruth Davidson supports more immigration into the UK, which already has problems due to its insecure borders. On 1 June 2018, she justified this by claiming it would make the UK more "vibrant".

Personal life

Ruth Davidson is a lesbian. She lives with her "domestic partner" Jen Wilson, a native of County Wexford in Ireland.

She is a member of the Church of Scotland and, in May 2022, expressed 'delight' at that church voting to allow its ministers to conduct same-sex "marriages".
