Vladimir Brovkin is an American historian born in St. Petersburg associate professor of history at Harvard University, author of several books and scores of articles on the Russian Revolution, Communism, Soviet experience and contemporary Russia including The Mensheviks after October: Socialist Opposition and the Rise of the Bolshevik Dictatorship; Behind the Front Lines of the Civil War: Political Parties and Social Movements in Russia, 1918–1922; The Bolsheviks in Russian Society: The Revolution and the Civil Wars and from Vladimir Lenin to Vladimir Putin.[1]
