Western Africa is the region of Africa consisting of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

There is robust population growth in West Africa today. Niger and Benin are ranked #2 and #4, respectively, as having the highest population growth in all of Africa, which is the fastest growing continent.
