Burevestnik (Bur-ev-est-nik) (GRAU index - 9M730, NATO reporting name - SSC-X-9 Skyfall) is a Russian nuclear powered intercontinental long-range cruise missile. Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin first announced the appearance of this missile in his address to the Federal Assembly on March 1, 2018. During the President's speech, video footage of the missile system test was shown.
In the video, President Putin in Sarov received a report on the progress of tests of the Burevestnik cruise missile and the degree of its readiness for adoption into service. This issue was previously raised at the 2018 Helsinki Summit with US President Donald Trump, about which President Trump later informed EU and NATO member states.
