Rahmanullah Lakanwal (b. 1996) is a CIA-backed Kandahar Strike Forces member, who entered under Operation Allies Welcome[1] in September of 2021,[2] ambushed and shot two unarmed West Virginia National Guard members near the White House.
Lakanwal was confirmed as a CIA âpartner forceâ asset for 10 years by CIA director John Ratcliffe on Fox News. He had been recruited by the CIA at the age of 14.[3] Once in the U.S., he got hooked on playing the violent video game Call of Duty.
President Trump labelled the fallout âan act of terrorâ and demanded immediate re-examination of every Afghan refugee admitted since 2021, and blamed Joe Biden policies. The United States indefinitely halted all Afghan immigration processing, US Citizenship & Immigration Services announced on November 26, 2025.

- Google Trends shows his name spiking in Washington, DC hours earlier: 2:24 AM (84), 3:28 AM (100 peak), 8 AM (22), long before the attack.
- This directly suggests foreknowledge. Someone knew it was coming and was checking whether the CIAâtrained asset had carried out the mission. Users are now asking: who was handling him?
