Llama

Llama (Lama glama), camelid species native to South America. Llamas are frequently used as pack animals, and were domesticated by the Inca 4,000 years ago. Llamas have higher red blood cell counts than most animals, allowing them to live at high elevations where the air is oxygen-poor.
