Jose Carreras

José Carreras, Spanish singer, born in 1946 in Barcelona, one of the three tenors. Carreras is noted for his lyricism and purity of tone. He had outstanding collaborations in concert with Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti and Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo.
Among the opera works with which he is most identified are Un ballo in maschera by Giuseppi Verdi, Tosca and La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini, Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo, and Werther by Jules Massenet.
