Religious right

The "Religious Right" was a term given to Christian conservatives in the late 1970s and early 1980s who became active in politics. A more common general term is "social conservative."

People on the "Religious Left," a newly founded movement because of its electoral value, argue that the focus of religion should be on political issues that may violate the Separation of church and state, rather than focusing excessively on moral issues.
