Coldstream

Small market town on the banks of the River Tweed, Berwickshire, Scotland. Coldstream is famous as the location from which General Monck's Regiment of Foot marched on London in late 1659 on a mission which would lead to the overthrow of the Commonwealth established by Oliver Cromwell and the restoration of the British monarchy under Charles II. Monck's regiment was consequently renamed the Coldstream Guards and has the longest continuous history of any regiment in the British Army.
Sheep dip was invented in Coldstream in 1830 by George Wilson.
