Tibet is a country in a mountainous region that was located between India and China until it was forcefully annexed by the Chinese in 1951, and the local Buddhist culture was suppressed. It is now geographically considered to be a part of China, and has been made an Autonomous Region, and is located in the southwestern portion of the country. Its capital is Lasha.

The spiritual leader of Tibet is His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. [1]
