Al Gore

Is it relevant to the article? I know he's one of the biggest promoters of "man-made global warming" (or whatever you want to call it), but has he actively been promoting earth hour? If he has, then it's definitely hypocrisy (liberal hypocrisy?) and should be properly cited. Otherwise I'm unsure if his choice to leave the light on has anything to do with the article. Well, I'd say it's relevant as Gore is a huge promoter of many other "green" initiatives but for some reason he can "pick and choose" when he wants to support the environment and when he doesn't. To me that sounds pretty self-centered. MaxFletcher 17:23, 16 March 2011 (EDT)

No, but seriously, that's like asking a Sunni Muslim why he's not agreeing with the Shia Imams (I admit that's dragging it a bit to the extreme, but I hope you get my point). I have added the qualifier "in 2009". He would have felt very pressured by environmental groups after this incident so I doubt he would have repeated it. MaxFletcher

Reality bit

Got some problems with this one. Not that what it says isn't true, but I think we could just provide a link to global warming or something, since this part don't have anything directly to do with the (symbolic) act of turning of the light for an hour at 8.30 in the evening (and I don't think that anyone in the Earth Hour-organisation deny that light-bulbs are important.
