Terry Lakin

Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin, M.D., is a former US Army flight surgeon. He was dismissed from the Army and stripped of his rank for requesting proof that President Barack Obama is constitutionally eligible to serve as his Commander-in-Chief.

Lt. Col. Lakin defended his right to challenge Obama's eligibility by explaining to his superiors that to deny a military officer's pursuit of this proof of eligibility is incongruous with the President's sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution. He was court-martialled, and served six months in a military brig for disobeying orders to deploy to Afghanistan; orders he believes were illegitimate because of unresolved doubts about President Obama's birth. Lieutenant Colonel Lakin was released from prison in 2011, and returned home to his family in Baltimore, Maryland.
