Georege Sutherland was a politician and jurist from the United States. During his years as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court - he was the leader of the Court's conservative wing - referred to as the "Four Horsemen";[1] this wing was very successful at striking down the more outrageous elements of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal.

Prior to his court service, Sutherland was a Republican U.S. representative and U.S. senator from Utah.
