Love Me Tender was Elvis Presley's first film, and the song with the same title that was also used in the film was a #1 hit. The film was the only one where Presley did not receive first billing. It was originally called The Reno Brothers, but was changed as the song rose in popularity. It is a Western film and features Richard Egan, Debra Paget, and Presley. It was considerably different from most of Presley's other films, which were cheery musicals.
Presley Plays Clint Reno, the youngest of the four Reno brothers. He takes care of the house while his older brothers go to fight for the Confederates in the American Civil War.
