HPV

HPV is short for the "human papillomavirus", which are sexually transmitted diseases associated with the development of deadly cervical cancer, as well as anal cancer, penile cancer, vulvar cancer, and head and neck cancers. There are many different strains of these diseases.
Merck has developed a vaccine against several strains of HPV; see Gardasil.
