The Jersey Shore has long been the popular name for the long shoreline of New Jersey, featuring many magnificent beaches for summer vacationers. The expression has been made famous in movies, television shows, and pop music, such as "Allentown" by Billy Joel.
The Jersey Shore was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
