RealClearPolitics
RealClearPolitics is one of the finest polling and news sources on the internet. It predicts election outcomes based on current polling and on historical tendencies for last-minute shifts. Using this model, it predicted an outcome to the 2022 midterm elections more than a month before FiveThirtyEight and other poll aggregators arrived at similar predictions.
Based in Chicago and founded by John McIntyre and Tom Bevan in 2000, RealClearPolitics is a comprehensive, real-time, and independent political network.[1] The site features all aspects of politics, from polling, analysis, and news to commentary, policy, and world affairs. In a short amount of time, RCP has achieved a solid reputation as a journalistic favorite, and is famous for its aggregation of various polling agencies to show average performances of candidates.
Its homepage includes links to a selection of articles, most of which are located on other websites, while a few are written by RCP's own staff. The list of articles tends to alternate between right and left wing sources.[2]
RCP's 2016 projections for the presidential election that year were more accurate than the "reputable" Cook Political Report,[3][4] and far more accurate than FiveThirtyEight in 2016.
