Scouting report

A scouting report is an analysis of amateur players as to their talent and likelihood of success in the future. This term is used most often to describe the assessment of baseball or football skills, and whether the prospect is likely to excel in college or professional sports. But the term can be used to assess academic or business prospects for success also.
The best of the public is often better than the expert's choices. Albert Pujols, for example, was panned in an early scouting report of him,[1] and yet he is a guaranteed future Hall of Famer after subsequently hitting more than 550 home runs in the major leagues.
