Slingshot

The slingshot is a simple weapon, consisting of a Y-shaped stick or piece of plastic with an elastic cord holding a plastic cup stretched between the prongs. It is used by putting a stone or ball in the cup, stretching it past the cheek with the dominant hand, then letting go to fire the stone.

It is a popular toy with children, due to its simple construction and use of rocks or pebbles as ammunition.

The slingshot is not to be confused with the sling, the weapon used by David to kill Goliath.
