There are several "deal breakers" for Christianity. Supporting the right for women to murder their children is one. As is supporting the homosexual lifestyle. There is nothing to debate or oppose here. --JefferyA 12:21, 13 September 2011 (EDT)

There are many different theological beliefs within Christianity, and we shouldn't censor them. --SharonW 12:37, 13 September 2011 (EDT)

Term

"Christian in name only" and "nominal Christian" are cited - liberal Christian needs a reference, especially since it's labeled as "most common." --SharonW 12:58, 13 September 2011 (EDT)

Why do I always think of the sack of Béziers when this sort of thing comes up? Or the Inquisition? Or the pope who had all the bells in Rome rung in celebration when he heard of the St Bartholemew's Day Massacre? Or Richard I at Acre? Or the various pogroms by whatever name we want to call them. Instead, Helen Keller is called a Christian in Name Only. O come on!!!!! AlanE 01:32, 17 September 2012 (EDT)

She was tight with Margaret Sanger. What else do you need? MattyD 08:27, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
So we are all tarred by the same brush as our friends now? What would that make me if I had Faith? My oldest friend is gay - we met when we were 12; that's 55 years ago. He "came out" to his family and to me when we were 18. He was in a faithful relationship from 1964 until his partner died two years ago. This is the "homosexual lifestyle" I tend to think of. We live over a thousand miles apart but correspond daily. To you, Matty, I am some sort of evil who, no matter what good I do in this life should be remembered for who I am "tight" with.
Seeing as liberal Christians are now a generic brand of XINO, how about adding another: Any member of any Church or Christian organisation who has ever indecently abused a young person or knows of such abuse and has not notified the appropriate authorities. AlanE 17:27, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
"She was tight with Margaret Sanger"? She could have changed in the last years of her life, repented, and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. That would put her in the Kingdom of God, because that is all anyone has to do. But be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 9-10). Karajou 18:03, 17 September 2012 (EDT)
I would certainly be open to evaluating any evidence that she changed in her final years or even days. MattyD 18:23, 17 September 2012 (EDT)

Billy Graham

I'm fine with leaving it as "(disputed)," but I tend to agree that Billy Graham belongs on this list. I think he's been used mightily, and for a while acted as a true Christian. However, he keeps moving in the wrong direction. For example, referring to Catholics and Jews as saved goes against scripture. They may be allies in many ways, but it's not the same thing. He keeps increasing the breadth of his ministry at the cost of depth, and I find it hard to believe that a true believer who is walking closely with the Lord would do this. --David B (TALK) 01:35, 29 December 2016 (EST)

I agree. Anybody who doesn't know he's a heretic should read this: [1] --Ambassador (talk) 11:55, 29 December 2016 (EST)
